For the last two years Rampage have organised the National RallySprint Championship at Silverstone, taking place on the purpose built Roger Clark Track, specially design for off-road events. The Rallysprint off-road event sees two Rally Cars go head to head over a loose surface arena with jumps and a bridge/tunnel crossover. As the drivers know every inch of the track and are generally in World rally cars this is the most exciting and spectacular form of off-road motor sport. In no other arena can you get so close to the action with cars split by hundredths of seconds after several laps of the hugely demanding course.
The event entertainment is structured around a family day with the drivers taking on the role of gladiatorial names and having themed characters for the kids to support. They all receive a goody bag with a thumbs up and down board for drivers performance at the hairpin and souvenirs from the teams.
With quad bike racing, the helter-skelter, dodgems, hero hospitality marquee, Pirelli rally-event simulators and giant Scalextric, it is a wonderful family excursion. |
